Well, last night was nice. Finally got out and had a bit of fun.

Sasha dragged me to a local night club with some friends. We had some drinks and some laughs, did a little dancing. No big whoop. Just what I needed though. Can't wait for spring so things could perk up more. Things always lull a bit in the darker winter months. At least it's been quite mild this season so far. Knock on wood.

I'm a simple woman with simple pleasures: pickles and chai tea...well, not together anyway ;D

How were everyone's holidays? Yet another pretty quiet one in the Wade family to put into the books. Then again, the Wades are generally not quite the exciting bunch. I mostly hung out with my niece Cher (short for Cherish) and Will (...kind of obvious). They're more like siblings. Cher's 20 and Will's almost 14. We just rented a bunch of movies and vegged out all night every night. I only stayed for 3 nights.

Then, back at work the 27th.

Then, did a midnight champagne toast for New Year's. I feel like I should make a resolution. I know it's a pretty silly tradition, but I don't know what I'd want to make a resolution of. Ideas?

I'm so, so sorry for missing yet another group chat. The first one came when I was knee-deep in doing tech for a show, then this past one was during a much-needed study session for my perilous statistics final.

I should be pretty available during January. I'm just going to do volunteer work during the day and then do some work on my play at home on most nights (but I can multi-task and I know what I need to get done and how)

I've also mentioned this to our lovely mod. I DO have a plotline planned for Val that I'll unhatch more likely in January. I'd much rather establish her character more before letting it loose.

Planned Plot: Since the witch-hunting with the more top officials (i.e. the President, CoS, DCoS, etc would already have been done and exhausted at this point--as it would have been done during the campaign and the first year in office--so the witch-hunters move on to the other employees) Val gets a disturbing package and her abortion is made VERY public overnight. Obviously, her usual sunny exterior and light nature are invariably clouded. This would probably more involve Audrey, Billy, and the President, but anyone and everyone could interact with it. That's why I need to establish her character more first--for the contrast effect.

Wow. It's snowing. Time flies. It was Halloween just yesterday and St. Patrick's Day the day before that. Tomorrow will be...Arbor Day?

On a different note, it never ceases to amaze me how sad tragedies could happen, but being more in the know about them and having to work closely with the subjects force you to distance yourself. When I have a moment and I actually think about it, the school bombing is incredibly sad. My heart goes out to all those affected, especially since it happened during the holiday season.

The atmosphere around here (or at least in my section) is quite gloomy and quiet. We should bring it up somehow. Ideas?

I ought to add "time-juggling" to my LJ interests. I now have an extra 15 minutes for lunch (and so does Billy).

Anyone up for lunch? Order in, go out, the mess, vending machine, whatever.

I thought I looked kinda cute. *shrug* Meh. Everyone else certainly did. Mel, Audrey, Kate, and the First Lady were absolutely beautiful. All the men looked quite strapping.

I guess I looked pretty good. I got hit on by a foreign dignitary. The British Ambassador to the US, I think. He was a RIOT!

A year later, she ended up at the Malloy campaign. In another year, Malloy would be elected. Had things gone differently, she'd have a 2-1/2 year-old, but who knows where she'd be and what she'd be doing.

It'll hit me sometime. We got a President of the United States elected. And I was right there.

It'll hit me. Like a ton of bricks, it will. It just won't come soon enough. I don't even drink coffee, yet the adrenaline's pumping.
